GigTwist

Book live musicians. Get paid for playing.

GigTwist is a marketplace connecting venues with musicians for live bookings — with the payment held safely until after the gig is played.

iPhone & iPad app

For venues

Search musicians by location, genre, and rate. Check their availability calendar, listen to their music, and read reviews from other venues before you book.

Post a gig and let musicians come to you, or send a booking request directly to an act you want.

For musicians

Build a profile with your genres, instruments, photos, video, and audio, set your rate, and mark the dates you are free to play.

Browse gigs posted by venues near you, express interest in the ones you want, and get paid straight to your bank account after you play.

How a booking works

  1. The venue sends a request. Either after finding a musician through search, or after a musician expresses interest in a gig the venue posted. The venue's card is authorized for the full amount — a hold, not a charge.
  2. The musician accepts. They have 48 hours to respond. If they decline or the time runs out, the hold is released automatically and nobody is charged.
  3. The gig happens. Both sides can message each other in the app to sort out arrival times, load-in, and set details.
  4. The musician gets paid. Payment is released automatically 24 hours after the scheduled end of the gig, straight to the musician's bank account.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. GigTwist never sees or stores card or bank details.

GigTwist charges a 15% platform fee, added on top of the musician's rate and paid by the venue. Musicians receive their full agreed rate, less Stripe's processing fee. Funds are held until 24 hours after the gig, so venues are not paying for a performance that hasn't happened yet and musicians are not chasing an invoice after it has.

If something goes wrong, either side can raise a dispute within 24 hours of the gig's scheduled end time. Payment freezes and we review the case within 24 hours.

Cancellations

Cancellation refunds depend on how much notice is given, and musicians who cancel close to a gig receive a strike against their account. The full schedule is in our Terms & Conditions.

Safety and support

GigTwist has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Every profile, review, message, gig posting, and uploaded file can be reported from inside the app, and you can block another user from their profile or a message thread. We review every report within 24 hours.
